The Life-IP PrepAir Project originates from the Agreement of 18 partners to reduce air pollution levels, limit emissions, and improve air quality.

The Project is led by the Emilia Romagna Region and involves 6 Regions – Emilia Romagna Region, Veneto Region, Lombardy Region, Piedmont Region, Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, Province of Trento; 7 environmental protection agencies – ARPAE Emilia Romagna, ARPA Veneto, ARPA Piedmont, ARPA Lombardy, ARPA Valle d’Aosta, ARPA Friuli Venezia Giulia, Environment Agency of Slovenia; 3 regional capitals – Municipality of Bologna, Municipality of Milan, Municipality of Turin; and two regional agencies – ART-ER Regional Development Agency, Lombardy Foundation for the Environment. The Project is co-funded by the European Union – LIFE 15 IPE IT 013

A series of institutional events are being held in Turin on September 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2024, during which the results achieved as a result of the actions undertaken by the Project partners will be presented and shared, with particular reference to the 6 strategic pillars: biomass, energy, transport, agriculture, air and communication.

The final conference Actions and Perspectives for Air Quality, scheduled for Sept. 18, 2024, takes place in Turin at The Place inside Green Pea – Via Ermanno Fenoglietti 20, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.

The event will be an opportunity to provide key players with a comprehensive analysis to guide future strategic perspectives. It is coordinated by the Piedmont Region and aimed at promoting a moment of matchmaking among stakeholders in view of the next programming of structural funds.

In order to raise awareness and stimulate the population on the issues affecting air quality, also creating a growing culture and sensitivity on the subject, and to provide an opportunity to discuss the current situation in light of the results achieved by the Project and a moment of encounter between citizens and institutions, 3 urban parks of the City of Turin will host on September 19, 20 and 21, 2024, 5 thematic events on the Project Pillars, open to the public.

The thematic event Biomass and Air Quality, scheduled to take place in Turin on 19 September 2024, will address the theme ‘’Using biomass for energy purposes while reducing the negative impacts on air quality‘’ with the aim of highlighting the ‘good practices’ defined by PREPAIR’s actions to reduce the impacts of biomass combustion, particularly in the domestic sector.

The event will take place in the Pellerina Park, at the PrepAir stand, from 15:30 to 17:30. Access is free, with compulsory registration at the following link.

The thematic event Agriculture and Air Quality, to be held in Turin on 20 September 2024, will deal with the theme ‘Techniques for reducing the impact of fertilisers: solutions and possible applications in comparison’ with the aim of examining in depth the techniques identified by the PREPAIR study for reducing the impact of synthetic fertilisers and identifying possible management criticalities and proposals for related solutions.

The thematic event Energy and Air Quality, scheduled to take place in Turin on 20 September 2024, addresses the topic Reducing Energy Consumption in Buildings with the aim of identifying strategies to reach agreements in condominium contexts.

The thematic event Air Quality Data, scheduled to take place in Turin on 21 September 2024, addresses the theme ‘Air Quality between reality and perception’ with the aim of identifying solutions to improve the accessibility and knowledge of data on emissions and air quality.

The thematic event Transport and Air Quality, scheduled to take place in Turin on 21 September 2024, will address the theme ‘Reducing private vehicle mileage in urban areas’ with the aim of identifying solutions to promote soft mobility, walking and cycling, and collective mobility, in urban areas.
